Claude artifact privacy settings, explained

The control sits on the artifact itself, top right, labelled Published or Share. It is the only setting most people need, and the only one that acts on something already public.

Changing it takes effect immediately. There is no confirmation step and no delay.

Team and Enterprise admins can switch off public artifacts for everyone under Organization settings, then Capabilities. It stops future publishing and turns existing public artifacts private.

This is the setting worth reaching for after an incident, because it acts on everything at once rather than asking each person to check their own.

Settings, then Capabilities, holds a switch for Artifacts, listed as AI-powered artifacts in some accounts. Turning it off stops the artifacts panel opening beside your conversations.

It changes what Claude does going forward. It does not unpublish anything you already published, so do that first if something is already out.

None of them reach copies. A published artifact that someone screenshotted, quoted or archived stays with them, and no toggle in Claude touches it.
