Can anyone see my Claude artifact?

Only if you published it. An artifact you have not published is private to your account. Once published, the link works for anyone who has it, with no account and no invitation, and there is no per-person access list to manage.

Published and private are the only two states

Claude artifacts are private by default. They live in your conversation and nobody else can open them. Publishing is a deliberate action: you press Publish or Share, and Claude mints a public URL under claude.ai/public/artifacts.

There is no middle setting. No password, no expiry, no list of allowed viewers, no domain restriction. The link either works for everyone or it does not exist.

What a published link actually exposes

The whole artifact: its rendered output and the text inside it. If you pasted a client list, an API key or an unreleased plan into the thing you published, that is what the link shows.

It also exposes the title. Titles are the part most people forget, because a title like "Q3 layoffs model" gives away the sensitive part before anyone opens anything.

Search engines are told not to index it, which is not the same as private

Every public artifact page carries a robots meta tag reading noindex, nofollow. Anthropic is asking search engines to keep artifacts out of results, and mostly they do.

That is a request to crawlers, not a lock on the door. Anyone holding the link opens it regardless, and links spread: people paste them into Reddit threads, Slack channels, tweets and documentation. Those pages are indexed even when the artifact is not, which is precisely how this index found its records.

How to check what you have published

Sign in at claude.ai, open Artifacts in the left sidebar, and select the Your artifacts tab. Anything marked Published has a live public link.

You can also search this index for your own work. It is free and needs no account, and it holds only what was already reachable from a public page.
